Merry Christmas from Queenstown

Well this year has been a pretty special one for Karl and I.
Actually it started October at the end of last year when Karl proposed to me. Yes he even got down on one knee! We decided to enjoy our engagement and marry in the summer but ended up putting off any real planning until January!
Of course always leaving it to the last minute trusting it all to work out! Luckily it did…
We wanted a simple out door wedding here in Queenstown, so we chose the historic bridge where we could be surrounded by the mountains and the scenery we love so much (please look at our photos).
It was a beautiful day and we were lucky that family and friends including Jay, Marie, Kevin, Clare, Joshua, my parents and sister were able to attend.
Our next adventure took up to Fiji on our honeymoon for some snorkelling and Bula magic! We thoroughly enjoyed being pampered newlyweds on the island and came home on cloud nine!
Pregnancy was an adventure for me and I can’t say I enjoyed most of it. So I will not talk about it in great detail. Anyone who has been pregnant knows how uncomfortable and awkward you feel but there is also that indescribable sensation of knowing you are as close to being a goddess as you could ever be.
On August 6th 2007 at 9pm our lives changed forever! Little Molly Claire Menzies was born 3.65kgs (8lbs) at Dunedin Public Hospital. I’d had a dream in the first 4 weeks of pregnancy that we were having a girl and that her name would be Molly. We chose Claire for her middle name after our dear friend Melanie Claire Thaker (who passed away late last year).
Our little Molly bubbles or “little monster” as we affectionately call her has given our life a wonderful glow. She makes us smile with her lively, wilful personality, and we are certain that even at this early age she has quite a good sense of humour.
It is truly amazing how much a little person can alter your simple existence for the better. Once they arrive there is no way you could ever imagine life any differently, nor would you want to!
I could honestly talk about out little Molly for pages but will instead leave you to look at our pictures for yourselves and see what a beautiful person she is…
..welcome Molly to the Menzies Family!
Love to all and wishing you a very happy and healthy Christmas and New Years!
We will be spending ours in Rotorua after having an early Christmas celebration here in Queenstown with my family.
We hope to be able to see everyone again soon in 2008!
Lots of love
Bonnie, Karl & Molly
