Greetings from the Melbourne Menzies-Devines for 2014

Posted on Dec 22, 2014 in Kevin & Teresa, Melbourne | 0 comments

Merry Christmas everyone.

Another busy year for us – trying to enjoy the ride while we seem to have lost control of the vehicle!

What’s been happening this year – Ella and Amelia continue to grow up before our eyes

Ella is now a wonderful 17 year old about to face down her final year of high school. She has fitted in study around her hectic social life, which will hopefully (from our perspective) abate next year. She’s completed her Duke of Edinburgh Silver medal and participated in a volunteer programme working with less fortunate kids in the remote town of Bourke – a busy, well-rounded year.

Amelia has finished her first year of high school and has somehow managed to juggle the demands of increased homework, making new friends and negotiating more public transport with more than 10 hours of dancing a week. She’s done a number of competitions as well as 2 RAD ballet exams, one of which was her first vocational exm. She’s done really well in all her dancing this year.

For Kevin and Teresa work just keeps rolling on with Kevin working on transforming Toll’s services arms in his role as a Solution Architect and Teresa keeping busy as ever Teaching English.

We’ve all been lucky enough to have travelled overseas twice this year. In April we spent two weeks in Vietnam, which was a really wonderful trip. Right now we’re in NZ. We’ve just spent 5 amazingly relaxing days in the Bay of Islands and are looking forward to our first kiwi Christmas in more than 15 years.

Sadly Teresa’s father Bill passed away in August after a steady decline in health since last Christmas. He lived a full life, left a great legacy and will be sorely missed.

We hope you have a wonderful Christmas and we wish you all the best for 2015.

Love Teresa, Kevin, Ella and Amelia
