Clare & Joshua’s Highlights for 2008

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for 2009!
This has certainly been a good year for Joshua and I.
We started off with Joshua settling in well to year two at school and having a very supportive and positive teacher. Joshua has done extremely well this year with his reading, where he received a high grade (reads the same level as 8 ½ year old) in his school report.
Joshua was first in the Juniors cross country, held at St Mary’s winter sports day. He also played soccer and has really taken to cricket this summer. Joshua even had me practicing with him on a regular basis so that he could receive player of the day! Other event’s Joshua was involved with was Kids Bike Jam, Mountain Bike Race Event at the Rotorua Redwoods and Tour De Lakefront Bike Race. Both these events were a lot of fun and it was great to receive a medal at the end of his races.

As most of you know I have been studying this year and it was great feeling to finish last October with a Diploma in Marketing. I am now awaiting my certificate so I can frame it and hang it on the wall!
Joshua and I went ski-ing down South and stayed with Karl, Bonnie and Molly in Queenstown. We had alot of fun together on the slopes. One of the highlights was Molly and Joshua been pushed around by Bonnie on a shovel (very cute)!
The year finished with Xmas in Queenstown with half of the family as well as Mariyln’s mum Ethel and Bonnie’s mum Pearl and Bonnie’s sister Chelsea (missing Kevin, Alex and Annemarie and their families). Photos of the xmas trip can be viewed in the gallery page.

The major change for the coming New Year is Joshua and I are moving back to Wellington! Joshua has already left and is with his dad. However, once I am settled with a job and have found accomodation in Wellington, Michael and I will then look at the best shared care arrangement for Joshua.
