Greetings friends from Queenstown!

MenziesFamilyOct09.JPGWow it feels likes the spring winds have blown in quicker this year – Xmas has certainly come around fast. But the break is well worth it – for all the family! It’s certainly has been an enjoyable one with little Lilly-Anne joining the “team” on the 19th Feb 09 . Our little red head has been entertaining to watch and of course Molly has been making sure she is not to be outdone!

The last few months have been great for the girls as they have learnt to bond and play with each other. Hoots and hoolahs are common at the dinner table (along with all the mess 🙂 – always a good way to wind down the day – ha ha

Menzies Lake Wakatipu Xmas 08It was great to have the family visit last Xmas especially meeting all the Cairns crew again of John, Maz and the boys plus Maz’s mum Ethel and seeing how much Connor, Aidan and Bryce have grown and bonding with Cousin Josh. Mum, Dad and Clare also enjoyed their time here too.

M01A0292.JPGBonnie enjoyed spending time looking after with Lilly-Anne, and then getting some independance back when she returned to Med Recruit as a recruitment co-ordinator. The company has grown from strength to strength and was named the second-fastest-growing company in New Zealand recently.

I’ve branched into running my own business this year offering Web Design and Development services plus Search Engine Marketing for clients after 8 years working for other companies.

I’ve enjoyed the freedom and challenge of driving a business and getting thbrand BoomBox Marketing known locally and throughout NZ . To keep work balanced I contract other designers, developers, and SEO specialists to help keep the clients happy and standard high. The new year brings more opportunities and challenges which I am looking forward to continue to grow the company.

M01A0277.JPGWe had a good snow season this year so its was nice to have a more flexible work schedule and get some time up the slopes when the snow was on. Having a home office has allowed me to share the child caring more which was great for spending time getting to know both Molly and Lilly-Anne.

Bonnie takes the girls swimming every week and both Molly and Lilly-Anne are very comfortable in the water, Molly especially. She enjoys floating on her back, jumping into the water frontwards and backwards and putting her head under. Lilly-Anne uses the floating boards to walk around the baby pool after Molly. They are a laugh a minute.

We have made a conscious effort to be more eco-friendly this year from recyling both waste and food as much as we could (try the bokashi bins!), to growing the vege patch and more time walking and biking – so we challenge you all to do the same to help keep the temp from rising!.

Both Bonnie and I have also become committed yogis this year which has been great for their health – sore backs, sore knees, reflux, lethargy have all become a thing of the past as we have both taken regular weekly classes – Karl more the Bikram flavour and Bonnie the Hatha flavour – we totally recommend it to keep your feeling young and healthy!

We are up the North Island this Xmas so its great to get on the road to see family and friends – hope to hear from you all soon!

Peace and love for Xmas
