We hope you all are enjoying the start of a good well-earned break!

Reflecting back on 2012 it seems to have been a year of planning and preparation for our family… find out more below

Last summer started of pretty average weather wise but after dodging the rain and floods in Bay of Plenty we managed to arrive at a beautiful campsite just north of Gisborne (Tatapouri) for a week of camping, morning yoga sessions, surf, sun and beach time. A great way to start the year and meet new friends.

Bonnie continued her yoga teaching in Wellington (2-3 times) a week and built up a following of diligent students – she has received lots of praise for her teaching.

She is also continuing her career as an Ophthalmic Technician and Clinical Research Study Coordinator at the Capital Eye Specialists under Professor Tony Wells. She is enjoying it very much and is currently studying to further her career, preparing for her first of 3 exams starting in the March 2013.
Karl continues to be well cared for with his eye by both Tony and Bonnie – still having some ups and downs (literally) in eye pressure which is both a challenge and nuisance for him with the regular dispensing of eye drops…

Karl has had an enjoyable year working on two main IT Projects – one with the Wellington City Council for the planning and production of the new public web services site which is due to go live in late Feb 2013.

Karl finished up his contract at WCC in Sept and started working with the NZ Aid Programme at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) – this project is to deliver a planning and management system for the NZ AID programme who deliver aid relief projects in developing countries around the world – NZ does and contributes a lot of good work.

Molly has a great year – learning lots with swimming and ballet lessons and of course the big day arrived in August when she started school at Owhiro Bay Primary. The school has very supportive teachers and great learning environment. Molly has come on in leaps and bounds with her ability to write, spell and read and maths – she is starting to show her sporting ability and running, bike riding and swimming

Lilly-Anne has also grown and learnt a lot this year – she is continuing at Kindercare Early Learning Centre three days a week and is confident in speaking and drawing. She is most happy to tell you all about her fantastic tales of magical ponies, princesses and farm animals

We went camping in early Spring and Lilly-Anne preferred riding Molly bikes more than her tricycle so guess what she is getting for Xmas 🙂

We had a wonderful mid winter holiday over on the East Coat of Australia in July – traveling down from Brisbane in a camper van down through the Gold Coast and onto Byron Bay and back up again stopping off at Theme Parks (Sea World  on the way down and Dream World  on the way back) and some fabulous beaches and surf spots including Burliegh Heads, Snapper Rocks, Kingscliff, and Byron Bay and visiting friends who live there – attempting place to live with warm water all year round and pleasant climate in Winter (much like a NZ Summer!)

So onto the big plans for the year…
Firstly we are expecting a new baby due end of March 2013!  It’s been a tough pregnancy for Bonnie with nausea for 4 months meaning she was too tires to continue her yoga practice and then her pelvis has been playing up lately – bubs is healthy and active though!.- so watch out for our news early next year!

Secondly we are building a new house! After 4 months looking a t house and sections and putting offers we found a new development (Kowhai Creek) near us that had house and land packages for sale – so we had a look at a few of the plans and jumped right in. Of course after selecting the three bedroom package (Lot 33) – we found out our new baby is arriving and upgraded our plans (luckily!) to a five bedroom plan, The excavations were started two weeks ago and building will start early in the new year – hopefully in by mid May!

We wish all of you a happy and fun filled Christmas with your family and friends.

Love Karl, Bonnie, Molly, Lilly-Anne and Bump #3 xxoo
